WHAT DOES ROOT CANAL TREATMENT INVOLVE?

Root canal treatment involves the removal of the inflamed and/or infected nerve, as well as any ‘dead’ tooth pulp. The tooth is cleaned out, after which anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial medicine is placed inside the canals of the tooth to stop the infection. The treatment is usually performed over 3 or 4 appointments.
